Meeting Minutes
The Oregon State AIChE Officer Meetings are every Wednesday at 5:00pm
in the Gleeson Undergraduate Lounge. They normally last around 30 minutes, so
come join us and contribute your ideas! Member meetings times vary; for more information please contact the OSU|AIChE President.

- Presentation in Nashville:
As a club we are doing a presentation in Nashville on how to fundraise without big
companies for clubs.
- Status of Application for COE Fundraising:
- Needs to be done before Nationals. (November 5th!)
- Needs to be semi-revised because last year we needed to provide more proof of funds
- 2 More General meetings:
- Hercules (Paper Technologies Company) wants to interview week 2 of winter term.
- Have a general meeting 1 week before the interviews. Jeff will contact them about
more information.
- Setting a date for Grad School Night. (Week 6th, November 4th): Presentations,
applications, internships, faculty and student panels.
- Summary of the national Conference and t-shirts right after (Week 7 and with
officer meetings afterwards)
- Library information meeting (pushed to the winter term) Week 8
- Grad school night or library resource night are intended for two different
audiences
- Tualatin Valley Water District would like to make a presentation for the club...
geared towards strengthening relationships for the EnvE students. (Winter term)

- Introducing the new Freshman Reps:
ChemE Freshman: Brynn Livesay, David Varin, Nicholas Kusanto
BioE Freshman: Kenneth Huang, Marissa Yee
EnvE Freshman: Cameron Oden, Lacey Kloster
- Trivia Night:
-Positives:
-Good Job
-Nice Trivia
-Perfect amount of pizza
-Lots of People
-Improvements:
-Freshman did not know a lot of the answers
-Can we move our meetings upstairs?
-Potentially intimidating for the freshman first meeting
-What would freshman like to see?
-Cool experiment (myth busters)
-Split up into the three majors and give advice
- General Meeting ideas (3 more to go):
-Student Panels (tips)
-Library Information Meeting (How to use...). Like week 6.
-Student/Professor Panel... Inside Scoop or CBEE orientation.
-Geared toward transfer students and new freshman
-Meeting in week 8 will focus on people interested in Grad School
-Try to get a different room for all the general meetings because Gleeson
100 is too
small
-Next meeting potentially Wednesday @ 5pm
-Food: Burritos
-Plan for like 70 people attending
-The next meeting will have a library information meeting and then a
student panel
about what classes to take and which professors are the best. Potentially
grad
students are there.

- Announcements:
Kendra Senrow - Interested in having a student meeting where our club can learn about
all the resources available in the Library.
- Reflect on Ice Cream Social:
Pros
- Good turn-out (estimated about 100-150 people)
- Perfect amount of supplies for the amount of people
- Lounge was large enough
Cons
- Line could be rearranged because it was awkwardly positioned
- Could have used a sign to direct people from outside
- Club sign-up and t-shirt sales needed to be in the lobby
- Better introduction of the club before we serve ice cream
- AIChE National Conference:
- Register for a pass to get into the conference by October 2, 2009
- To get the $60 reimbursed, you must log 8 hours of volunteering or fundraising time
- The cut-off date for deciding to go to the conference will be October 9th
- General Club Topics:
First General Meeting
- Ideas: Game night, bingo, trivia (age based)
- Need pizza for around 80 people
- Get food 15 minutes early
- Make student store tickets prizes
T-shirts for Nationals (Tara Binn will lead)
- Making posters
- Making design competition announcement at the October 8th meeting
