SPONSOR A SPEAKER MEETING |
| General Information |
Speaker meetings generally take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, starting approximately at 6:00 PM. Food and drinks are provided free of charge. The first 30 minutes usually focuses on a company overview. The sponsoring organization then presents an educational topic related to the construction industry. Food and beverages are served at the end of the hour. Please be prepared with an educational topic, it is the key to a successful and memorable speaker meeting. Before or after the presentation companies may sign up students for interviews or give away company marketing paraphernalia (t-shirts, caps, coffee cups, etc) either directly or through a raffle. |
| Purpose |
Your company receives valuable name recognition and exposure to students. Company philosophy, focus and atmosphere can be communicated allowing the opportunity for students to have a meaningful experience. Many students decide which companies they will interview with based on their experience at these meetings.
Students benefit by socializing with peers as well as the company presenters. Socializing with students provides opportunities to improve communication skills which are vital to their and ultimately your company’s success after graduation. Socializing with company representatives allows students to network and become more comfortable with potential interviewers. |
