Structures:

The structures team focuses on the design and manufacturing of the fuselage and landing gear of the DBF aircraft. This sub-team also oversees the component integration of the plane, to see that all components fit to the body of the plane without interference. Overall, the sub-team works with a variety of materials including composites.

Payload:

The payload team efforts surround the payload system and implementation of it. This sub-team is also responsible for the systems integration and the weight optimization of the aircraft. These aspects are important to ensure that the systems of the aircraft work in harmony for optimal scoring at competition.

Propulsion & Controls:

The propulsion and controls team concentrates on the motor and propeller used to move the aircraft though the air, as well as the applied power used to do so. These features are extremely important when it comes to the speed of the aircraft. This sub-team also oversees the controls of the aircraft which allows the pilot to complete the competition course.

Aerodynamics:

The aerodynamics team is responsible for the lift of aircraft and also oversees the wing structure and shape that is applied to each aircraft. This sub-team is also in charge of designing and manufacturing the control surfaces of the aircraft, which are used by the pilot to control the movement of the airplane.
