The Oregon State University AIAA rocketry team successfully launched a 2-stage rocket to an altitude of 80,000 ft in the Blackrock desert in Nevada in early September.  The rocket was designed and manufactured by a team of OSU mechanical and electrical engineering and computer science students. The rocket featured two solid rocket motors and a dual parachute system on each stage.  The project also included a new 38 ft launch tower and ground station to actively telemeter flight data during the launch.
