Mentoring services are fulfilled by contacting your desired mentor through email and setting up an appointment. Emails and bios for each mentor are stated below:
Thomas PrihodaThomas's main interest is computer architecture, digital logic, and embedded coding. His focus area is Computer Engineering and he is getting a minor in Computer Science. Thomas is part of the MECOP program and finished his first internship with Daimler Trucks North America where he worked on controls for an experimental hybrid semi-truck.
Cory's main focus in the ECE field is in Computer Engineering. She's currently working towards a Masters of Business Administration in Business Analytics. In her undergrad she participated in the MECOP program and worked her two internships at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Micron. She has a BS in ECE and Minors in Business and CS.
Richard's main focus is Control and Robotics. He is currently a 4th year ECE student and a member of the Honors College. His areas of interest include embedded systems, industrial automation and controls, and low-level firmware design and implementation. He is part of the MECOP program and has completed his first internship where he worked on industrial control and power systems for ATI in Millersburg, Oregon. For extracurriculars, he is a senior member of the launch and flight control team for the OSU AIAA Hybrid Rocket where he helps to design and build avionics software and hardware. Additionally he conducts research in the SIM Lab under the direction of Dr. Matt Johnston to further the development of self-powering medical electronics which he plans to use as the topic for his Honors Thesis. Outside of academics, he can be found running, hiking, and playing guitar.
Megan's main focus area is Computer Engineering, Robotics, and Digital Logic. She's currently working towards a Masters in ECE and her area of research is multidisciplinary project-based learning. In her undergrad she was a TA for many courses such at ECE 111, 112, 272, CS 161 & 162, and ENGR 201 & 202. Currently, she is the Vice President of HKN, the instructor for ECE 111 and she has a BS in ECE and a Minor in CS.
Nick's main focus area is Computer Engineering and Embedded Systems. He is currently a senior working towards his BS in ECE and a Minor in CS. Nick has chosen his focus area because he wants to make the process of electronic design and programming more efficient for users. He is currently an undergrad TA teaching courses such as ECE 111, 112, and 272.
Jeremy's main focus area is Power Systems and is a senior in Electrical Engineering. He eventually wants to work with the electrical grid and/or alternate energy. He is a MECOP student and has completed an internship with Jacobs Engineering Group (formerly CH2M Hill) in Portland. His capstone is to help Dr. Wang design a more energy-efficient Electro-Optic Modulator. In his copious free time, he plays video games, Dnd, tennis, social dances, and spends time with his family and dogs.
Brian is a fourth year ECE student minoring in CS that is focusing in signals and systems with an interest especially in medical devices. He is striving to learn more about machine learning and algorithms this final year as he works on his senior design project, "Bioelectronic control of a drone using brain-computer interface."
