The purpose of the OSU Robotics club is to promote independent supplemental learning to the existing Engineering curriculum. We purchase prizes and materials to build projects and also reserve campus resources for our members.
We invite all majors and engineering disciplines into our membership. Our members participate in international competitions against university and professional teams.
We host both internal projects geared toward the beginner, as well as external projects which encompass all levels of knowledge and skill.

Nominations are Now Open
It's that time of the term again where the election process for new officers starts. This term the offices of President and Treasurer are up for election. Our current President, Cody Hyman, and Treasurer, Shannon Cahill-Weisser, are planning on retiring from club officer positions at the end of this year, so new officers will need to be elected this term. Only current OSURC members can be nominated for these positions, but you may nominate as many members as you would like for President or Treasurer with the nomination form below: here.

Roboshock
After assessing the RoboShock events of the past few years, the robotics club officers have determined that as a strictly volunteer club of engineering students, we don't have sufficient resources to continue running RoboShock. The goals of RoboShock were to foster collaboration among local teams and encourage students to learn more about OSU. The OSU Robotics club has shifted its focus to more manageable events which accomplish the same goals. Students can attend fun, collaborative robotics events in the off-season with several scrimmages available in Portland and the Willamette Valley. I recommend contacting Doug Edmonds, a leader of the Oregon FIRST Force coalition, for more information about scrimmages. (doug.robotics@comcast.net) To educate students about possibilities at OSU, the Robotics Club attended the Autodesk Portland FRC Regional, and encourages teams to come see robotics and engineering on campus at the 2012 OSU Engineering Expo on Friday, May 18th (http://engineering.oregonstate.edu/expo2012).
Mailing Lists
OSURC has two mailing lists: osurcmembers@engr.orst.edu and osurcofficers@engr.orst.edu. If you're a member or interested in becoming a member, join the members list. If you have a question or want to get some information distributed to all members, email the officers list. We'll then be able to answer your question or post the information to the members list immediately. Only officers are authorized to post information to the members list, in order to minimize irrelevant list traffic. This means that if you try to reply to the list on a message you got via osurcmembers, we might not see your post for a week or two.
How to Join OSURC
If you are not currently a member of OSURC or need to update your annual membership, just come to an OSURC workshop, competition, or general meeting and an OSURC officer can get you signed up. Membership costs $10 and lasts for a year. All you need to do is go to a meeting, pay, and get your membership card. If you have any questions or would like to join at a time other than the scheduled events, email: osurcofficers@engr.oregonstate.edu.
