March 2005
We would like to get the club involved in meaningful
activities. UPE Leadership has discussed the following
possibilities:
- The new Kelly Building will NOT include a library. Dr.
Bose and Dr. Cull discussed the possibility of UPE maintaining the CS
Library here in Dearborn after the move to Kelly.
- The graduation ceremony for the school of EECS has only been
in existence for the past few years. Currently the leadership of
ACM is in charge of the ceremony. Many of them are graduating
this year, and the president of the student chapter of ACM has
approached Ron Bjarnason about UPE involvement in the future.
- Dr. Cull and Ron Bjarnason have discussed reintroducing
Doughnut Hour to the CS Department. This was a weekly tradition
up to a few years ago. Since then, no one has been willing to
head this endeavor.
These are just a few possibilities of ways our club can get more
involved in meaninful activities. If you would like to be
involved in any of these projects, or have good ideas for other
projects, you can email them to the club email list
