With regular attendance of 20-30 students, we broke into subteams and began researching and planning revisions to the mechanical/electrical systems and a brand new pair of starting and stopping reactions.
At our first informational meeting, we were joined by about 30 interested students looking to get involved in a hands-on extracurricular activity to build practical teamwork skills, get lab experience, and engage with the engineering design process. Almost all of them indicated an interest in sticking around after the meeting.
Returning members of the team cleaned up the lab space and developed a general approach for the season.
The Chem-E-Car team joined our parent organization, the CBEE Student Club, at Cookies & Clubs and the Beaver Community fair, collecting more than 70 sign-ups on our interest form.
